The Role

Our Hardware Platforms Engineer demonstrates a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Hardware Engineering for complex electronic systems, and displays a blend of core technical strengths & communication/organizational skills with a keen inclination to the  server/microprocessor industry. You will have a strong interest in system builds & testing, debug & troubleshooting, enjoy working in a lab environment, be proactive, and have a hands-on approach to work assignments.

Education

BS in Electronics / Electrical /Computer Engineering or equivalent

What you’ll do

Work in a fast paced, dynamic lab environment supporting engineering needs

Build and test systems, using Diagnostic Platform & functional regression tools

Install/replace chips, components and peripherals across validation / reference platforms

Install, troubleshoot & diagnose FW / HW configs / setups during test

Run electrical measurements, implement/validate board-level rework

Support silicon & platform level debug

Generate reports/dashboards summarizing system bringup, build/test progress, issues found, critical sightings/bugs and action plans for problem resolution.

Identify and own any issues that are blocking execution of critical tasks in the lab, and drive those to closure.

Implement & maintain JIRA frameworks to track platform build/test status & configurations, chip/component/platform inventory, SOC/system distribution.

Organize and maintain documentation across Sharepoint & Confluence repositories.

Interact closely with Systems & Silicon engineers/ lab techs, HW Validation & SW Development teams to build, configure & test end-to-end prototype systems

 What you’ll bring

2+ years of relevant experience in electronic hardware testing, debug & design

Hands-on skills & experience with system builds, setup, testing & soldering

Proficiency in using electronic measurement tools & instruments

Familiarity and/or willingness to learn how to build & configure prototype servers with components and platform peripherals

Knowledge of the fundamentals of board design, analog/digital/power delivery/voltage regulation circuits

Ability to interface and co-ordinate with platform test engineering teams, with hands-on resolution of technical hardware / software issues

Problem solving, communication, documentation & organizational skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools

Experience using JIRA/Confluence tools preferred
